Councillor Chris Griffiths,Conservative Party,....... (friendly and helpful)
Who helped Mr.Brown and Son on being made aware of their treatment, even though he represents an adjacent Ward, and who's correspondence with Tendring Council in regard to his position over a conflict of interest technicality, was unanswered over the weeks, as the closing date for him to forward a representation endorsing Mr. Brown's Planning Appeal, with the Government Planning Inspectorate expired.
One could come to the conclusion,Technically blocking his involvment as a local Council member to endorse Mr. Brown's Planning Appeal.

Dear Chris,
Planning Application for Extension at 11, Tudor Green
08/00107/FUL & 08/00819/FUL.
Thank you for your letter of 28 January.
I have noted the points raised in your letter of the same date to Mr. R. Stewart, and will be interested in his response.
For your interest (and edification), I enclose copies of:
1 The English Legal System. 15.08.08.
Note on the paramount importance of effective scrutiny and monitoring of proceedings, to ensure that the ordinary member of the public knows that proceedings which are supposed to be carried out on their behalf are in fact, conducted honestly, and with natural justice at the core of procedure, throughout.
2 Letter to Attorney General. 31.10.08.
3 Reply from Attorney General. 24.11.08.
4 Letter to Bernard Jenkin M.P. 14.11.08.
5 Note about Visit to 11, Tudor Green by the Editor of the “Clacton Gazette” 27.01.09.
I would like to thank you for your interest and positive help so far, in respect of my unfortunate and unusual experiences in trying to deal in a normal way with Tendring District Council over what should have been a fairly routine matter.
It is a sad reflection on the state of democracy in Tendring, that you are helping me, rather than the two unhelpful and incompetent, responsibility avoiding, individuals, Messrs Smith and Watson, who are supposed to be my two Ward Councillors.
They are just two more examples of “mis-representation” which is a feature of many aspects of Tendring District Council’s operations.
As agreed, we will exchange further items of interest as necessary.
With best wishes, from myself, and Nick,
Yours sincerely,
Mr. B. Brown.

The Chairman's Referral Committee, which is the process in the document above signed by the three participants has been frowned upon by outside organizations investigating the local practises and procedures of Tendring Council by effectively removing an applicants democratic rights and denying them a representative to forward their views, for instance ignoring 30 signatures on a petition in favour, and this meeting procedure has apparently ceased to be allowed after various Audit reviews recently. Please note Mr. Brown and Son had requested this information in August 08 and had been denied access to what had transpired with the petition and how the refusal decision had been taken for some unknown reason of Tendring Planning Department. If it were not for Councillor C. Griffiths sense of fair play and kindness, devoting some time, Mr.Brown and Son it appears would apparently still be waiting for an answer like many other questions covered previously on this site which have still to be answered.

Dear Cllr Chris Griffiths,
I find myself approaching you again for a little help in regard to the fiasco my father and I have experienced over our Planning Application with Tendring Council Planning Department.
The Bedroom extension is under construction, and Shore Engineering have been commissioned to supervise the construction and ensure the current building regulations are followed by regular inspections and friendly advice.
On accessing our records on the 29.10.09 on the Public Access v 7.4 for our Planning Application (and subsequent Appeal which was granted in our favour) as you are well aware, I notice that an Enforcement notice has been attached for some reason.
We are total confused as to the implications, as it appears that a said time limit normally applies, and as we have at no time received a notification in writing explaining the reason for this Enforcement Notice to date.
Having experienced negotiations with other Council Departments outside Tendring and experiencing our local Tending Council Service, where experience has proven evasion is applied to answering simple enquires, it has led to us approaching yourself to find the reason for yet again another problem, as a lack of confidence in normal channels of communication has been generated by our local Planning Office.
If you could be so kind as to obtain this information for my father and I in writing, we would be very grateful.
Ref: 09/00521/BRCH2
1 Date Enforcement attached.
2 Date correspondence sent to inform us of Enforcement Notice.
3 Time allowed to comply with Enforcement Notice.
4 The meaning of “Started development without discharging conditions”.
5 On this record, why after the months that have passed since the Appeal decision, has the Planning Inspectorates conclusion not been attached for public view?
Ref: 08/00128/BLDOP3
1 This Enforcement Notice (Ref: Domestic Wind Turbine Installation) turbine was removed from the Public Access V 7.5 for the duration of our Planning Appeal and subsequently reattach after the Planning Inspectorates favourable decision, why?
I enclose copies for you to refer to, and again thank you for any help you can give in regard to these questions.
Yours Sincerely,
Nick Brown.
Councillor Chris Griffiths,

Note
Councillor C. Griffiths promptly, we are informed, visited Mr.Brown and Son at there address and contacted the Tendring Planning Office by telephone. Mr. Browns son was put in direct conversation with a Senior Planning Officer at Tendring Council, where he was informed that samples of the building materials had not been presented at the office for inspection and with the appropriate fee. An old tile (as the new 1000 tiles were on back order) and a new brick, having completed the appropriate form, with the required fee, was left on the counter with a member of the Tendring Planning Office within a few hours, appreciating that in all the proceeding planning paperwork, materials had been stated as matching in with the original existing construction.
Within the next few days the enfocrment notice was discharged.
The "tendringeye.com" wishes every success for the future.
Tendring Councillor Chris Griffiths (Conservative Party) also became a Essex County Councillor representing the local area in 2009, and may we wish him every success in his additional responsibilities.
